NW based painter Syd Bee is influenced by the lurid delights of horror cinema imagery and the lowbrow pop aesthetics of mid century comics that focused on the campily macabre. Her work often focuses on the femme fatale side of horror, ranging from inviting, lush glamour ghouls seductively greeting you, to pensive beauties with various creatures of the night acting as symbolic familiars.
